Meet our founder

In 2008, I left Minas Tênis Clube, where I worked as a sports masseuse, and then I opened a hair store. A few years later a girl arrived at the store, wearing a turban and started talking about the illness she was facing and the loss of her hair, showing pictures of her hair before the illness. And she said that the loss of her hair made her suffer more than the disease itself. With tears in her eyes, she told the attendant: I can't afford to buy a wig, but if I could, I would have a wig made with your hair. Upon hearing the report, I approached and asked him to measure the girl's head. At that moment she asked: why measure? I can't afford the wig! I said, don't worry, we'll donate it to you! The girl got emotional, hugged me crying and said she had no words to thank, and I was much happier to be able to give a little bit of myself to that girl in that difficult time she faced. Since then, this girl started talking to me more often and I could see that the wig gave life, raised her self-esteem, she began to smile in front of the mirror and gained strength to continue with the treatment.

A year and six months later, this girl called me saying she needed to talk to me in person. We then agreed to meet at the store, when she arrived, with the results in hand, she hugged me crying and said: Edy, I'm cured. I beat cancer! At that moment I confess, I cried along with her. After that special moment I realized that something had changed in me, and that I needed to do something for someone, but I didn't know how.

One night, at exactly 4:00 am, I was on my knees in my room praying and when I got up, the idea came to “Donate Wigs” as if someone told me to donate wigs! From then on, this idea started to be part of my life, and then I started to develop it. I traveled to São Paulo and met with a supplier and managed to buy 80 kilos of hair and asked them to do everything in wigs. I set aside 30% for expenses and 70% for donation.

When you practice the act of giving with love, the return is immeasurable, but to continue we need you!
